Ewazen takes great pleasure in writing for brass, and being asked for a concerto for three trombones was pure delight. For Maestra JoAnn Faletta and the trombone section of the Buffalo Philharmonic, Ewazen has crafted a three-movement standout, in what is, admittedly, underserved repertoire.
