Pays tribute to the magnificent stained glass windows , designated as “Sermons in Stained Glass”, housed in the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. Although the work has a range of color and intensity that draws on images from the entire sequence of ten windows, the piece is grounded on two themes of central importance: one that is the musical spelling of the phrase “beam of white light,” and one that is the musical spelling of the German term “Auferstehung,” which is the “resurrection.”
