Claudio Maria Veggio was born in 1504 or in 1505 in Piacenza. The first information we have of him concerns the commission he received in 1537 for the testing of the organ in the church of S. Anna in Lodi. In 1539 he was a cantor in S. Francesco in Piacenza, where he witnessed an agreement between the friars and Giovanni Cipri from Ferrara for the construction of the organ.
