In the Duo A8 for violin and accordion, written for the accordionist (and professor at Linz Bruckner University) Alfred Melichar, the flowing interweaving of the violin's timbre with that of the accordion results in seemingly atmospheric transformations that intensify through changes of tempo and character, only to suddenly disappear into nothingness through the dissolution of the tonic chord.
