1989 the Mexican guitarist and composer José Alberto Ubach made the proposition that Beethoven's WoO 33 / 4 & 5 had been composed for the Terz-guitar. With this in mind, when we look at this Sonata, it is immediately clear that this is a 'peculiar' work, particularly in that it is playable on the guitar with only minimal changes to the original text.
