The three-and-a-half-minute piece (recorded by the Acacia Quartet on the CD Blue Silence on the label Vexations840) is part of a series of melancholy miniatures for string quartet written by the Uzbek-Australian composer: a chaconne-like bass line and a longing melody frame the two middle parts which progress in a steady rhythm and with charming harmonic friction.
