Legendary violinist and composer of famous tunes such as Liebesleid/Liebesfreud or Schön Rosmarin, Fritz Kreisler, has rendered homage to Robert Schumann with two arrangements. Besides an arrangement of the late Fantasy in C major Op. 131 for violin and orchestra he has adapted the second of the oboe Romances Op. 94 in a delicate way, which makes remarkable use of the bow. Since this arrangement makes extensive use of the original score, it can easily be included into a performance of the full cycle with violin, which was Schumann’s explicitintention.
