Recorded on the Hutchings-Votey organ (1907) at St. James Cathedral, Seattle. St James' turn-of-the-century organ provides the ideal sound for this program of German (and Germanic-style) organ works. The generous acoustics of the cathedral enhance the sound of an organ which is rich in fundamental, and can project soaring melodies in the treble.
"Joseph Adam is an organist who is capable of virtually anything. His technique is sterling, and he knows how to extract the instrument's unique colors in complementing the music."
